How do I check to make sure my tack is reading correctly? Some times my tack reads 800 rpm's less. I have a volvo 5.7 gl and the max rpm is around 4800. Sometimes I am there and the next time I startup and go out it is only 4000. Also, while cruising at 28 mph sometimes it is around 3200 and then the next time it will be at 4000 cruising at that speed.I don't seem to hear any diference in performance of engine, but amnot sure. I never see the tach jumping around. It is always steady on the rpm's
