Okay, its been two days and I'm still steaming mad. On Saturday, I had a run in with one serious <edited> in a 68 foot monster boat.

We took off for Friday Harbor from Everett on Saturday morning. Nice day, flat water. As I came to the point at Mukilteo where I would turn 90 degrees to port (South)I started watching a northbound vessel off my port bow. He's fast and coming strong. About a half mile out, I conclude that he is not going to give way and I sigh and make an obvious 25 degree turn to the South so I can safely pass behind him (since he would not allow me to hold course and pass in front of him). What I see next floored me. He waits until he gets close and then turns to starboard to close the distance I tried to put between us and puts himself back on a course to make a parallell stbd to stbd passing, except since he closed the distance he's back on a track to pass me like he was a ski boat or something. I drop my jaw and get pissed off immediately. I perform the obligatory "up yours" code maneuver and flip him the bird, cause I can see the monster 6+ foot wake he is throwing running what looks like 20+ knots in a 68 foot boat. Basically, this <edited> was oblivious to the size of his boat or the power of its wake and turned to starboad so he would not have to make a wider turn around Mukilteo. This is not a narrow passage. So first he fails to give way and let me put distance between us on the outside of the turn, then later decides that he can pass me like we were two ski boats. He ended up passing about a boat length away or about 60 feet.

Don't think the wave was that big? I stomped on the flybridge floor to try to get the attention of my passengers so they would not be injured. Really, I was concerned about injury. There was nowhere I could go at that point, I'm running 8 knots. He's on me in moments. I have a 48 foot boat and we took water over the bow from this guy and I have a very tall bow.

Then on the radio this guy tells me "how inconsiderate I was and if I had any other tricks". Apparently, it is not "good form" to give the "up yours" signal to the <edited "individual"> that just tried to injuur my passengers.

Two days later and I'm still hot. Anybody know where I can track down this <edited "person">. <Deleted> The boat was "Legend 680" in large lettters on the stern.

<Offensive paragraph deleted>

Honestly, I want to take action. What can I do <edited "to address this issue"?

<Edited to remove unnecessary conjecture> I did a google search and that's a 68 president. Must have been a new boat to have the model plastered on the back.

Sorry, but THIS guy I'm going to track down <edited "for the good of all involved">

<edited "greetings">

July 26, edited post to keep just to the facts, moving on now to more positive conributions...

Brett, by all means, give them a call. I'd also make a written report to the CG. If nothing else, next time they see the boat, they'll hassle him a bit.
