Howdy People

Welcome George! Although no longer boating I still check in here all the time. Have met a lot of nice people through this group and everyone is very helpful!

Welcome aboard. This is without a doubt, the best boating site on the web, and as an anchored member, you get to meet the crazies in NBR (really the nicest guys you will ever meet).

Welcome to Boatered.

We had another RO from Raystown, PA.
His ID was Blouderback!
Also known as Bob.

Perhaps you know him?

Think I tooky first sailing lesson on that lake while at Penn State long away and far ago.

Welcome, George from an ex-PA resident. Moved to our boating waters on the Chesapeake Bay permanently in 2012.

Actually, the "Bob" that CurretSea spoke of is not from Raystown Lake area. He lives in Chalfont, Bucks County, PA... quite a distance from Raystown. I've never been to Raystown Lake but planned on fishing it .. another plan never implemented. Huge manmade lake!

Well, its big, but not huge. It has 12 sq miles of water, which doesn't even break the top 100 in the country. The nice thing about it is there are no houses on the lake, just a few campgrounds. Its easy to find a nice quiet place even on holiday weekends.

Mike,
Actually if you search raystown lake and annabo or blouderback you will see quite a few posts from Bob. So I was just curious.
We all know and love Bob!

Yeah, Bob went there a few times but more often he's boating closer to home.

I've been to Raystown few times a year, stay mostly at Bluemarsh. Bob used to hang around at Beltzvills though.

Beltsville is in MD near DC.

Raystown is an awesome lake. My MIL lives 7 miles from there. We usually rent a pontoon boat for a day once a summer up there. Its a blast.

Beltzville lake is in Lehighton PA. It's a public lake, Blue Marsh lake is Armycorp in Leeport PA. $3.00 fee to use boat ramp at Blue Marsh, parking lot reenforced(when it full,it's full, you have to wait for "one out, one in" ) go fast as you can, very nice, very helpful and very professional water cops/rangers. No fee at Beltzville, overcrowded with jetski, parking is a messed, water cops sneaking up on you, stop you anytime they please doesn't matter if you are cruising within limit speed or anchored, and ask for all kind of document, speed is very strictly reenforced and zero professionalism.

I entered a raffle once. 1st prize was a week on beltzville.... 2nd prize was 2 weeks on beltzville.

:)

Welcome to this great board George. It will be 2 degrees here tomorrow morning, it's hard to believe that the boating season might start in 6 weeks for some.
Bill
