Unfortunately made a small cut just below a manufactured glued handle. Need to loosen the glue just enough so to get the patch under it then re-glue later. Any suggestions on what solvent product to use? Many thanks for any suggestions.
Heat and acetone - or MEK if you’re not scared of seriously hazardous stuff. Also recommend a lot of due caution.
There’s a two part adhesive made by Bostik that’s the best there is for Hypalon. I want to say it’s called 2402. Call Clavey Paddlesports in Petaluma CA. Cheapest and one of the only retailers for it in the US, and they really know their stuff when it comes to Hypalon and inflatable boat repair.
Thank you for that information and would have definitely been my second question. At this time I would like to get information on what you suggest as a solvent that can be used to lift a corner of pad that holds the handle that is to close to the cut. Lifting a small portion of this pad will allow more meat to attach uniformly a patch. Good information for the 2402 and really appreciated it.
