Congratulations but i Got to ask how someone in Cape May names his boat after a small Alpine town on the other side of the pond....

MANs? You are a brave man! Parts and Service is going to be sticker shock territory after the CATs :)"

Thats right Pascal. The guy loves the place.

The MANs are not cheap correct. The big converts all have MAN. Since they are V blocks they less tall than a big CAT so the boats have better center of gravity and fit in the engine rooms better.

Although rebuilds on the injectors wasn't too bad. $175 per.

Best of luck with the new boat Jonathan. I'm sure the old one should sell fast. I can assure anyone that is interested that the old Robyn's Nest is a VERY well maintained boat!

Awesome boat! Best of luck with it, and in selling the older one!

Congratulations! Many safe hours to you and yours with it.

We know someone who just put a ton into theirs. 1200's with 3000 hours about 13 years old. It had 2 liners split. The worst of their ordeal was that the marinization was caught up between Detroit and MTU. No one had the gaskets or something of that sort for the exchangers. Perhaps that's all sorted out now.

Good luck with the new boat!

I can echo what rommer said, Jonathan is meticulous with his boats, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one from him.

You should post the sale in the "For Sale" forum.

Jonathan,
Congratulation on your new Post. I am sure you guys will have years of fun and enjoyment as she looks beautiful. I am sure the person who purchases your Ocean will be happy. Best of Luck!

Congrats very nice boat good luck. Def. not docking next to you when i come down for a visit you will make me look like your dinghy!

Thanks guys.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Mr MAN service won't be making trips to my engine room.

The fill ups are gonna hurt though, holds 1200 gallons. Ouch.

I guess I should list in the for sale as well. Couldn't hurt.

The folks we know use a tennis ball in the pump handle and keep an eye out. When it gets close they go back to manual and hand hold it.

I was talking about paying close to 5 large to fill it up Dan.....Not worrying about holding the handle too long. A crushed soda can takes care of that. The ball works too.

Thanks.

You bought the Ocean in the summer of 2006, right? That's when I purchased my Silverton.
I don't think I ever told you but, I was dying to purchase your Silverton instead. I believe it was a 37 convertible?
I had been on your boat, between that and posting here, it's obvious how meticulous you maintain your boat.
Sadly it did not fit in our boat club!! For the same price as my 33'er, I could have had a much bigger, better maintained vessel.

The person that buys this Ocean is in for a treat!

Best wishes on the new boat!!

Your post title had me wondering if we were going to lose a great forum member.

After reading it and seeing the photos all I can say is...

YOU ARE MY HERO !

John only 5? While we have less "pain" we feel it too! LMHO. Our annual fuel bill is around a thousand gallons. Like our friends, your boat unit has an additional 0 tacked on the end.
