Appears the Chain is the Quick Release on these new fangled anchors.. . . Wish I didn't know now what I knew 10 minutes ago!

Would love to be there(not to close) when he tries to set the boat on the hook in the state channel.

Another example of why a required boating course looks important to me.Do you really think he knows the 'rules of the road?'

If you look at the content of state mandated biating courses, they dont address anchiring or docking. Heck, the USCG Auxiliary will give a nice shiny safety inspection sticker if you don have an anchor, lines, or fenders. Let s keep government out of the way, shall we?

I'm guessing the video was a set-up stunt. Someone just "happened to be there" to video record some idiot trying to set an anchor like a fool. I'm guessing it was a set-up to get video hits/clicks.

"guessing the video was a set-up stunt"

But ... but, it was on the internet! It must be true! ;)

Could be. Though, I have seen some amazing things in decades of boating, and this could be "real".

Damn those Millennial, always trying to change what we Baby-boomers have been doing things. Now if they could only figure a way to set it that way in deep water!

More evidence that there is a finite amount of intelligence in the world and yet the population keeps growing.

My on-line boating class told me to make figure eights of rope on those thingys that stick out to the sides.

Does he not see where the anchor is fastened which would change the location of pull ?

Possibly, but if they wanted more views they should have panned out further to the left at the end
