I received the following email from Coastside regarding the threat to salmon fishing in California. Please read!
"We have a rare opportunity to save our future salmon seasons for us and our children that will take less than five minutes of your time.
Coastside has been working under the radar screen for the last couple months putting together a campaign to remove the dams on the Klamath River, and open up 300 miles of spawning area. We have enlisted UA and our lobby in Washington DC (ASA).
Our Washington DC lobby has stepped up in a major way by enlisting 12 national organizations besides themselves to help, and has taken the leadership roll in DC. Our job will be to push it over the top with a huge campaign of letters and or e-mails.
I, like you am tired of the constant battle we seem to find ourselves in, but if we don't try and do this, who will?
This is an historic opportunity that I feel is a real possibility. These dams right now are under negotiations for possible removal.
What I'm asking is for this membership not to give up or depend on the other guy to get it done. It is up to every one of us that want to continue salmon fishing in the future to go to the two links ASA provided, and sign your name and hit send, this can't get much easier. This simple task will send a letter to the corporate owners of the dams and your congressman.
