I'm back!

We fished all day in the fog today. Actually it was nice conditions, a little bit of a swell but that was it, and just a couple boats fishing near us so not too much to worry about. We did hear the submarines on 16 annoucing where they were, wouldn't want to encounter one of them in the fog!

Remind me to tell you want it was like to have one come up astern of us on the St. Lawrence. YEEEHAAA!!! Deb! There's a rb2@gr5t#$& Sub behind us!!!! WT&*^$!! YEAH A *&^$rb2@gr5t SUB is behind us! HA! LMAO now, but it was a different story then!

Better today when no one else is out I say. When we came across from Sandy Hook last Sat. it was like driving across town on 42 street.

John,
Sounds like a great trip and we may be doing it later the season, we have been to the Vineyard before
When your back & settled can we get some feedback and things to see & do in Nantucket

Sorry Andy, somehow I missed your post. Be happy to give you whatever feedback I can.

Of the 3 Islands, Block, MV & Nantucket we still like Block the best for its overall beauty and variety of things to do. Second place goes to Marthas Vineyard. Nantucket is nice, but since we don't play golf I'm not sure we will go back anytime soon. Found it more crowded and hectic and to be honest some of the most rude boaters we ever encountered anywhere. (The power boat Four Winds comes to mind)

It is expensive as many will tell you but not completely insane although I did check the fuel price which for diesel was $4.43 per gallon PLUS 7.5% of extra taxes on TOP of that, roughly $4.75 per gallon. OK so they have to bring it over by boat, yada yada yada, It was $2.85 in Vineyard Haven with no extra taxes.

Is there anything in particular you would like to know?

$2.85 on the Vineyard????

Cheap.

Liberty Landing is up to $2.99 now for a gallon of slippery red juice.

I was surprised that last year diesel at Edgartown on MV was cheaper than it is here locally.

John, not much to do on Nantucket besides play golf? I was considering going next year but not sure. A friend who has been there on his boat said it's the snobbiest place he's ever been to, but worth one trip. I'll have to see how plans work out, still a long way off of course but while out east this year was already thinking about what spots I want to get to next summer.
