Hello, and thank-you in advance for any answers to my question. This forum has really helped me and I appreciate all the people on the forum. As to my name I am not Mr. Happy today. I think I need to replace the impeller on the boat and want to know if I can do it myself or take it to the dealer. I have a 1991 Sea Ray I/O 5.7L engine. The marina says the impeller may be causing the boat to got hot and the impeller is in the lower unit. Can I do this myself? I do alot of mechanical work on engines if I can.
I ran through some form of sea weed on the lake and 1 minute the boat kicked out of gear and ran hot. I will say the boat no longer will go into forward or reverse. It will start but runs hot so I shut it off. Sorry so long, but I know you guys like details
