I am looking to move my 28ft wellcraft 2600 to South River Marina any info or issues anyone had with them? or any other marinas I should look at on the south river?

We were at the marina next to that for several yrs. after buying our first Chap. and other than some weekend paring problems due to the rest. there we liked it. Fuel there was always in line with the rest of the bay, and other than the trip out to the bay it was fine. Maybe check out the one after that ??Gingercove marina.. Someone is restoring that and I heard doing good things. Haven't heard any rates, and I'm not sure of depths back there.

I'm not sure which marina is South River Marina - but -
I had a small cuddy cabin in the boatel at Liberty Marina for many years. Service dept was really bad due to turnover and marina owner issues but nice people and they usually had great deals on slips when occupancy rates fell.
Oak Grove - other side of Rt 2 bridge from Liberty had open slips when I refueled there a couple of weeks ago. Have had good success with their service dept. They also have a ramp on-site if you need that for any reason. Depending on when you will be using the boat there may be an issue with parking due to the popularity of the restaurant (Yellowfins) at that location.
Gingerville Creek (I think that is the name - might be changing) is the marina next to (upcreek) from Oak Grove and is just beginning a huge makeover. I'm not sure if I'd want to be there with all the construction and changes that are supposed to be happening soon (incl 100+ boatel). They don't have much parking now and I think they are bringing Intrinsic Yacht Sales (Ocean Yachts) as an anchor tenant.
Pier 7 marina is about to fall into the South River - the owners expansion plans got shot down and he has been listing the marina and restaurant for 19M - hoping to sell to someonw trying to recreate the Hyatt in Cambridge.
There is nothing else with regards to commercial marinas upriver from the Rt 2 bridge (I don't think Mike's restaurant rents slips anymore).
I don't know much about Londontowne Marina on Glebe Bay -
For the past year we have been using Pocohontas Creek marina for service and winter storage. We bought a used boat from someone who lived close to them and PCM had taken care of it for the past 7 or 8 years. They are great people and I've been really happy with them. It is a really small marina - they may have an open slip.
There are a handful of marinas at the mouth of the river. Keep in mind that for those on Ramsey Bay you have to negotiate the small & narrow bridge opening for Turkey Point Rd and I've heard that Anchor Yacht Basin really gets hit hard with winds from a certain direction (south east maybe). The people at Selby Bay have been nice but I've only fueled there.
Hope this helps a little - the marinas near the Rt 2 bridge are really convenient if you are driving there via Rt 97 - also, unless you are heading out to the bay to fish there are many creeks and coves that you can spend years exploring and hanging out while saving gas.
