Greetings!
On our last cruise from maine to Florida we went outside at Shinnecock to Fire Island Inlet, then back inside. Spent a few nites anchored at Gilgo and Zachs, then back out Jones inlet to Barnegat and on. My question is can I take 4.3 ft inside from Shinnecock to Fire Island. My prop is fully protected by a skeg so grounding is a nuisance not a catastrophe. Thanks for the help.

Even at high tide, that would be a tough call. Moriches is very low and most boats do well just staying up on plane where they draw even less water. Some spots in Moriches even at high tide can be less than 3 feet. If you have Sea Tow or BoatUS, you can try contacting them and ask if they will guide you through. They are known to do this to avoid having to do tows later.

I wouldn't risk it with draft, what the point.
