Most of you kept up with my 40 foot Jersey that I just sold, it had a good pair of 1990 Crusader 454's that were put in last winter. While I spent the last four years keeping this boat running, I severely neglected my 1999 Wellcraft, with a 7.4 mpi & Bravo III, and now I'm paying the price.

The exhaust manifolds on the Wellcraft were rusted out so bad, that the engine had to be pulled to get them off. I just got a call from the shop, I'm going to go down there at lunch to take a look, but they are of the opinion that the motor is so rusted, that it has to be replaced. I don't have the cash right now for a new engine, and I will never buy another remanufactured/rebuilt engine as long as I live. So I'm kind of stuck.

The guy that bought my Jersey is in the midst of converting it to Detroit 6-71 Diesels, so if he hasn't sold the Crusaders yet, I could probably get them pretty cheap - and I know they run good, have brand new exhuast, etc. What would it take to put this engine into my Wellcraft, which has a Bravo III? Can I just unbolt the fuel injection from my Merc engine, and install it onto the Crusader, or it is more complicated than that?
