There was a thread on the old forum on this topic in which the owner of Kameko installed a swim platform on his Regal. Is that thread still available? Has anyone done this recently?

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who's done it. How difficult was it? Did the platform from Regal come with all the hardware? Did it come with templates to drill the holes? What did you pay for the platform?

Thanks in advance,

Raul

Thanks for the info, Harlan, though the correct URL is swimplatforms.com ( If you don't put the 's' at the end, you get a company that builds floating docks, etc.)

I'm curious. Did you buy and/or install one of their platforms? Around how much did they charge you? The Regal dealer wants $2,200 + shipping, though I'd probably pick it up at their factory myself, since I drive up and down Florida from time to time.

Raul-
I did buy one from Swimplatforms.com. The cost was about $1200.00 -$1400.00 plus freight. Mine was for a 25 Sundancer, I think the cost is about the same for most o f them. Send them an e-mail and they will give you an exact price. The fit and finish on mine is great. I have friends who have factory platforms on their Sea Rays and you can't tell that mine isn't factory, except for their logo on it.
As to mounting, about a half day job. Lots of hole drilling and getting to the bolts inside the bilge is a challange. Need a couple of buddies to help.

Thanks, Harlan. That price is certainly lower than Regal wants. I sent them an e-mail and am awaiting their reply.

If you are willing to wait until your dealer has a load of boats to be delivered, Regal will throw a completed platform on the truck and you should not have to pay any shipping costs. (at least that is the way we do it at our dealership)

I have seen harlan's boat. The first thing I asked him....wait....the second thing....the first was "Y'all got a Bloody Mary?!" The second was "Is that a factory platform?" It is NICE!

Thanks, KentnSuzi. However, shipping should not be a problem for me if they have one in stock at their Orlando factory, since I'll be driving kinda that way with my truck and boat in tow on my way to our vacation house on the St. John's River in a few days. But if they don't have one in stock and I have to wait a few weeks, then I will certainly try what you said with my local dealer. Thanks for the info and advice.

Hey KIDa, good to see you again and thanks for the reply. I'll probably buy one from Regal if they have one in stock, as I'd like to use it on the river during my family vacation and their Orlando factory is sorta on my way there. But if I have to wait several weeks anyway, then I'll strongly consider a platform from Swimplatforms.com, as I may save several hundred dollars and still have a nice platform.

Raul,
That will probably work great for you to pick one up at the factory since your so close. You better allow 4-6 weeks lead time for one though, as I doubt they have one in stock. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago for a fellows 2100. I am hoping it is finished for a load of boats I have coming the end of August.

IMHO, I think you would be better with swimplatforms.com. Harlan's appears to be longer than stock. Don't get me wrong, the regal platform is nice, however you could put a small lawn chair on Harlan's

KiDa-
Mine is the same size as the factory ones. Maybe the Bloody Mary's just made it look bigger.
