The nuts came off 2 bolts. After that the bolts slid back and started to eat the tranny case.
It didn't break lose right away
Eventually it did snap the other 2 bolts and the tranny broke off the coupler.
So lost the coupler and tranny.
Towed in
Fixed and a week later we came home with her.
Mechanic checked other side and nuts were lose there as well.
When a boat is shipped, the props come off and the bolts are usually loosened to make the shaft flex in transit.
THey always get re-torqued by dealer
In fact regal ships their bolts with nuts in a bag tied to steering wheel.
My luck this dealer never prepped a boat over 32' before or a boat with inboards.
