I have what seems to be an exhaust leak on the intake manifold on the exhaust port of my 454 (one location is the port in line with the carb). The gasket is new from the rebuild and I can't really tighten it anymore. I was wondering if maybe a non-marine gasket would cause this (since the rebuilder put this in) or if the intake is so worn from years of use, surface corrosion and resurfacing during a rebuild that they cannot seal properly? Just getting some thoughts before I think about replacing the intake manifold.
