I'll make this as brief as possible. Some opinons here would really help.
I have a 200HP 1999 Envinrude Ficht Outboard on a 24' Seaswirl Striper. I put 2 new Gel Batteries. I purchased a nice battery gauge from Xantrex

I also purchased a battery post to put all my accessories on, and ran one +/- Wire to the battery, so I only need to remove the 2 wires each year. I get the boat going for the season, and upon like half throttle, the motor cuts down to the s.l.o.w., with the check engine light. I call up a shop and a guy comes with the program for my engine, and he says, it's a voltage problem. He said, it probably has something to do with your battery monitor, or the post I put in. To make a long story short, I take everything off, but the two batteries, connected to the switch, like it's been for the last 6 years. Each battery is fully charged, and they are 975, and 995 CCA, each. I even put the selector to BOTH batteries, and the problem still happens. Now my only problem could be with the ground. It runs to the pipe, which is the intake for my baitwell, and I just have it wrapped around the pipe a few times, and secured with tiewraps. I figure, this needs a metal clamp over it, but its been like this for two years.
This happens at the exact same spot on the throttle. I figured out, if I get to it, and race past that point, I avoid the problem, there is a very slight hesitation with the motor, and its fine after that. Same thing on decelleration.
Is there some mechanical thing on the throttle that could cause this? If it was the ground, it would do it at different places right? I loved boating up until now, haven't had too many bad experiences. Thats why I bought a brand new boat. But that was 7 years ago lol.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post. Frustrated on Long Island.
