Is one product better?

I'm having my boat coated right now and they told me that it would be interprotect, but I went up today and they're using the Sikkens products.

Don't know anything about them.

maybe ive sniffed too many bottom paints, but i dont know of a sikkens barriercoat. if you are paying for interprotect, then thats what you should be getting

I know that I should get the Interprotect, but they're on the 4th coat of this Sikkens Epoxy Barriercoat GP. If I tell them to redo it, then I'm not sure when I'll launch (they'll likely delay the whole process just for spite).

I'll definitely renegotiate prices on this, but I want to know if this stuff is worth anything. I can't find much on it on the web (at least nothing in english).

My guess this is a brand new product on the market, and they are just getting it to the U.S. and they got it cheap and had to use it for the first time, and your boat happens to be the guinea pig. I would suggest that you let them finish the job with the Sikkens and then get a warrenty on the work, and if they cannot comply, then have then strip it off, and apply the Interprotect, and also see if they might want to knock off some money on the bill also.

My .02 worth.
