This is going to sound odd, but I love standing up when running my runabout. I think the seat in my Chapparal 180 sets too low and I don't like looking thru the windshield, so I stand for better visability. (The steering wheel tilts, so control is not an issue.) I've been on the Ohio (5 miles away) a couple of times and with all the stuff in the water, you really need to watch out and sitting down doesn't allow you to see all the stuff in the water.
The only problem is the next day when my legs are sore from standing and asorbing all the bumbs/waves, etc.
Question - Has anyone ever raised their seat so they could see above the windshield? Is this a stupid idea and is it a safety concern? Any type of retrofit out there?
Thanks again for help with a stupid question ...
