Looks like it's going to be a nice weekend I think I'll try to get some prep work done on the boat. Maybe scrap some loose paint and sand a little. Anyone want to help?
(I didn't think so) It's a dirty job but it has to be done.

Here's how the river looked today:

But at least I got on the boat and had a cold beer...

That stuff (ice) is only good for ONE thing...keeping my vodka soda cold...yum

Well I'll give myself an A for effort. I went up there to at try to do some bottom sanding but I could have used a pair of ice skates. It's hard to sand when you are sliding around, I guess I have to wait a little longer. Maybe tomorrow.

Nice pictures I left my phone in the car as I walked the dock the whole time I wished I could taken pictures to post, so thanks.

Well I guesss they cant get to the pit to launch me yet!

No ice down here except in the drinks. Caught me a nice bug today.

Dan, thats just right.....Sure looks like you are enjoying it...

If I saw something like that in the Hudson I did think I'd every go back in the water. Not that you can see anything in the Hudson.

Here's some of what you'll find in the Hudson River:

Yes indeed John. And note they are black as well. We walked from Hope Town down to the Sea Spray Marina on the beach yesterday. I found that bug in a pool in the rocks about 10 yards off shore. All of those cold fronts that whacked Florida came our way. We had sustained winds above 35 mph for a day and they remain around 25mph sustained now. It has kept the temps below 60 at night and down to 64 during the day. With luck we get back into the 70s soon!

David I hear you. That thing reminds me of the bug that planted the seeds in humans from the movie Aliens. Imagine that thing clamped to your face with the antennas down your throat?

In the spirit of the home port some folks sent a few photos of the RYB in the dead of Winter.

Dan, Are those footsteps someone walking out to check and insure Freedom is not there?

Mike, You know he is going to blame me for that...Great thinking....

Yes it could be they don't want us sneaking back while they are not looking. I hear there's alot of annymosity building up over this particular winter and they want to tell us about it.

We just spoke with Deb's folks and they said today was the first day it was above freezing in Kgn. Given that I'm thinking the creek ice is somewhere around a foot thick.

today was a very nice day. Was outside cleaning the car and the garage. Thought about the boat but said - nah - ~40 more days until the shrink wrap is removed and prepping will begin. Hopefully the winter ends sooner so I can ge to the boat and get it ready for April 1st.

Hogan Thanks for the pictures, I know they exist I just don't ever want to see them or for that matter think about them. Heck I wouldn't swim in the ocean for years after seeing Jaws.

RYB I assume that's Round out, as soon as I saw the picture I said that looks familiar. I must have a dozen shirts and sweat shirts from them. Used to go there all the time it's been a while must be time to go back. Is Jeff still running the place? The last time I was there on a Holiday weekend they were so pack that they rafted us together and there was no way to go out for a day trip. This was a little upsetting considering we had invited company to meet as there. OK maybe I would go back, the Town dock might have to do.

Stopped off in Neptune NJ on Sunday. Alot of people at marina working on their boats already, talked to local and told me alot of people get their boats in by March. So hopefully warm weather will head up our way soon.

Hey Dan, I see from the Roundout picture that diesel is still over $5 ;)

We managed to get some work done on the Caryl-D this weekend. New Bimini, Next all Side Curtains..

Butch, it looks like Caryl could be working a heck of a lot harder and faster...
