Is lectra/San worth the effort?

I have a holding tank with Y-valve and macerator so I can either keep in holding tank a few days and pumpout or pumpout to sea when offshore. The head is fresh water flush and I have a chance to purchase a complete Lectra/San EC12 system for $200.00. I boat off the NC coast and I am wondering if it is worth the effort to change. Don't you have to add salt if your head is fresh water?
