Is this the Weber Q BBQ that is preferred?

Dunno...a camping grill just does not look right on a boat. A boat grill is supposed to be all SS & held together with non rusting or corroding parts. A camping grill is held together with steel fasteners that rust, alloy parts that corrode & somehow simply look tacky on a boat.

Now, if that boat is a houseboat, that is a different story.

JMO...worth what it costs you.

Every Magma I've owned has rotted out. They are overpriced and do not work very well. I bought a $99 stainless steel grill from Home Depot. It's bigger and works better than any Magma I have ever owned. When it rots out, I'm only out $99, instead of 3 - 4 times that much.

The things 4 or 5 years old and not a spec of rust anywhere that I can see. I did change the burner out last year, about $30 IIRC.

It's mounted on a piece of black starboard.

The starboard is mounted to a Magma locking swivel that goes into a rod holder.

Do you have any pictures of the starboard mount? I'd like to see how you accomplished it.

Expensive mounting brackets, starboard mounts, separate carts, taped drip trays, bulbous contraption to store.

Confucius say "Man who not tape drip tray have greasy stain when big wind come"

Of course, you don't have to do ANY of those things.

Some folks are happy with a baloney sandwich and some peanut butter crackers, hot hot dogs in the microwave.

Then there's always a can of spam....
