Since the boats have been out of the water, EVERY weekend has been sunny & nice!

This one looks great too...

Thanks for the update, I'll make sure I'm out there.

Since we are still in the water I have to say thanks to those that have removed their boats to create these beautiful, sunny weekends. :)

Hogan I stopped by today and measured your swim platform. It's 12' wide and 4'long. I came home and went to fill out an order form for a quote only to find out I didn't take the the right measurements. Thanks for your help. the rest of the measurements I have to get off my boat.

And yes the weather has been great since the boats came out. At least it been nice out to do other projects around the house.

I noticed you really like to measure things. What do you do in the winter when your not on the boat and at home. Hmm.... [:-eyebrows] [:-scared] [:-censored]

So what's it going to cost?

For what I really want about $23000.00 so it looks like I will have to settle. I'm still waiting for quotes from a few companies.
I would like to get a platform with a lift. I would really hate to add the platform which will render my davit some what useless and make it difficult to launch my dink. Right now I'm just looking at my options I may not do anything this year.
I'm also considering getting rid of the jetski and buying a runabout you know for when there isn't enough water at the marina to go for a ride. I don't think I would do this and the platform in the same year but you never know. Maybe I'll hit Lotto or something.

What I measure in the winter I can't discuss but I will say this no matter how many time I measure it, it doesn't get any bigger.

Bob needs a micrometer to measure his...

Dave, your props are bigger, hence the deeper draft.

Mike I thought you and I had the same draft?

I noticed Bob had smaller props and rudders. I not sure why But his boat seems to go faster, go figure.

My props look huge but I get good MPG so I not going to question it. I'll send them out for service this winter and leave well enough alone.

Dang I could get engines rebuilt for that!

The weather is pretty good down here about now also.

The waterway north to Dover sound. Large boats need not apply. But 53 inch draft boats can do it :D

Dan I hope not to need to rebuild anytime soon!
Looks nice down there. I have been following your thread and glad to hear you made it safely. Please keep the pictures coming I always enjoy looking. I have no plan of making the trip in this boat but maybe someday I will try.

I have the cummins 450 HP - we'll have to compare mileage next year. Maybe I'll sell you my platform for $23,000!

Dave if you really enjoy boating and you get the chance you will enjoy it. Just remember that going too fast is not the way to take this trip. You have to be ready for it and that means you can't be in a hurry. Perhaps there is room to run it and leave the boat south so you can travel to it, but imho, taking it slow and steady is the way to go.

I will never spend anywhere near that I'll build one myself before I spend that kind of money.
I have gotten prices as low as $2300. for a stationary one. I think that sounds low and I'm sure the price will got up by the time I'm done. We'll see as I said I still just looking I may do nothing for a while.

As for MPG do you have a flowscan or the likes.
I installed one on my last boat it worked well but I had to replace the sensors a couple of times. On this boat I just work off of hours and gallons burned so it's not accurate but gallons per hour has been great. Much better then I expected when I bought the boat. Hopefully you will feel the same. It's a big heavy boat I guess diesels are truly all they are cracked up to be.

Ok, thats enough from you trojan guys. All this talk about measuring your things and who's is bigger. And adding these over inflated prices to make it even bigger. Really, some of you are having problems making what you have already fit.
;););)

Dan, why would you ever want to come back this way?[:-shades]

someone needs to get back on his boat...
