couple of days ago, I was approached by a guy who was cleaning a boat a couple of slips down, who gave me his card for cleaning, painting, varnishing, etc... i took it and thanked him, saying I might need some touch up to eliminate a couple of huricane scratches.
then he blew it. started asking what i was going to do about that teak furniture i had on the aft deck, leave it natural? with a pushy know it all tone in his voice. I said, maybe, indeed have not decided yet, i like the natural teak but the table needs frequent scrubbing to eliminate water marks. the guy then started saying that i should since that is not even real teak but a look alike fake teak. (which i doubt)
now, I don't know about others but when the first thing i hear from a vendor or service provider is criticizing things or somebody's work... with a know it all attitude, I run away.. i don't want people like that doing any work for me.
