We put the boat in Saturday. Everything went well, with one small hiccup. Last fall while winterizing the a/c I removed the pump strainer and cleaned it. I left it off figuring I would re-install it this spring. Well, when the boat went into the water I heard the water coming in because the thru-hull was open. Only took a second to reach down and close the valve and stop the leak, but it could have been disasterous.

Other than that everything went fine. We put in and ran over to South Bass, had a drink at the Round House-which was busier than I expected. The weather was beautifull and there wasn't a wave on the lake. Unfortunately, today wasn't quite as nice. Hopefully the weather will clear by next weekend.

We put in last weekend...windy as all get out...but in the mid 80's....

Kindred...what marina are you based out of?

I also went into the water last weekend during all the high winds!

Just down from Anchors Aweigh about 500 feet or close to Mels Crows Nest if you know the area. We'll be back out Friday but the weather doesn't look quite as nice as we've seen prior!

The city docks at South Bass were letting you dock for free if you showed them your fishing liscense. Not sure how long this will go on, though.

Middle Bass isn't technically open yet. It is possible to pull in there, but I spoke with the state park officer the other day and he said there are electric and water lines running all over in there-not safe to go in. We didn't make it over at all last year and we are anxiously awaiting their June opening. No electric this year, though.

Our "weekend" finally came and the whole club is in the water, I was 4th from last one to go in, yesterday. That's me keeping an eye on the operator.

Kindred,

We are in Sandusky Bay - Battery Park by Damons. Been to your neck of the woods quite a bit though...I can't remember the name of the Bar/Restaurant over by you...but we've had quite some fun!

We will be at Put - n - Bay this Memorial Weekend...hope the weather cooperates this year!

Catch you around!

Looks good Niles...boy that crane would make me really nervous...give me the Travellift any day!

I hear ya. We are looking into a travel lift, we even have a perfect spot for it but the cost is up there and we don't have any money!!

I think we go this weekend. That's as soon as we could get the hull waxed.

Kindred, are you there on Saylor St. near where the OSU graphiced boat is?

Bill

Damon's at Battery Park............go there almost every weekend for dinner! Love that place. Just wish the high winds would cease so I can boat over there instead of driving. Watch for JETLAG along the wall.

Planeguy,

What kind of boat do you have...where I am docked I normally can not read the transom names...if I recogize your boat, I will come over and say hi!

Bill,
Yea, right around the bend. You must know the area??? The OSU graphiced boat belongs to the former dentist of OSU. Are you slipped close to here? Catawba Moorings dredged the channel coming out and you can't run straight through from Anchors Aweigh if you draft more than 3'. I found that out yesterday, just barely squeaked through there. The area they dredged comes off the end of the fuel pier toward the OSU boat at a 90 degree angle to the channel. Constant 6+ foot.

Kindred,
We have a place just down the road on the canal at West harbor Lagoons. This will be our 4th year there. We stayed at Marina del Isle for 7-8 years before that. It's a great area. Just completed the interior woodwork on the new windows this weekend and brought the table and chop saws back home, hopefully my chores are done for the year and I can begin goofing off on weekends. Nothing to do but mow the lawn and wash the boat.

Bill
