I have the bottom of the line jabsco raw water electric toilet (model 37010) and both the wife and I are tired of the meatgrinder noise each time it is used (especially in the middle of the night).. I see jabsco offers a quiet flush (model 37245) that would appear to be a direct drop in replacement. I don't see any specs on how quiet or how much quieter it is than what I have now.. Does anyone use one of these and if so, could you compare the noise to the 37010?.. Is it worth the money to upgrade?

It's probably worth the extra money.

The Jabsco 37245 is the same basic unit as their 37010 with the exception of the supply water (intake) pump. Instead of the noisy impeller pump being built into the unit, they supply a diaphragm pump that runs quieter, but must be remotely-mounted. It is not built into the actual toilet, like the one you now have. The macerator and discharge pump remain the same as before.

Their model 37045 flushes with pressurized fresh water and is quieter still, although the installation is a little more complicated.

For info purposes, most folks think that the noise associated with an electric toilet comes from the macerator. Not so. Most of the noise from an electric toilet comes from the supply water pump, especially if it uses a flexible rubber impeller. Rubber impeller pumps are simply noisy - it's the nature of the beast; you can't quiet them down, at least not very much.
