Saturday night a 49 year old women died at our marina from a jet ski accident.
A bass boat's wake threw her off the back of a jet ski (she was a passenger), her trailingfollowing son, also on a jet ski, ran over her. She was wearing a life jacket.
They got her back to the docks, she was alive and talking. She went into cardiac arrest on the transport to the hospital.
One, this is a tragedy, espcially one day before father's day.
Two, freaking bass boats, slow down. Yes, you do leave a wake and you do not won the river.
Three, freaking jet skiers, pay attention. I almost hit one coming back into the marina today. I was up on plane, 25 mph and she (along wirth another boat pulling a tuber) was dinking around in the channel. I had no where to go (very narrow river at this point) and she never even saw me. I dropped off plane and went right by her, all the while she was clueless.
We pray for the family and we pray folks will wake up and pay attention on the water. At a minimum, learn the rules of the water.
