Jet skier rescued 25nm east of Miami...

Great way to get a ride in a helicopter. NOT!

And now there is a 700lbs UFO drifting north in the stream.

Interesting, let alone Very Fortunately, this operator had a PLB! I guess the USCG decided to emphasize the value of the PLB as opposed to the idiocy of offshore PWC operation. I can understand that, PLB takes the "Search" out of SAR, but still, well out of sight of land on a PWC, OY!

Not the brightest light on the Christmas tree. Cost him his jetski. Maybe the gulfstream will bring it up my way & spit it out in one of its eddys.

Doesn't say how he got that far offshore.

Nor do we know where that figure came from.

So it's hard to say if he was stupid or unlucky.

Chances are, both. :-)

Obviously.

And equally as obvious I wasn't speaking to the rescue. Just the circumstances that lead up to the rescue. :-)
