I have been looking at a new boat with a John Deere 6068 TFM 6.8L engine, about 150 HP.
Can anyone give me their opinion of this engine, in particular, how reliable, and how fuel efficient is it. I notice that it does not use the "common Rail" fuel system which is being touted as more efficient by some other engine manufactures.
My only experience with diesels is with Perkins which is very obsolete now
