Since late May the coastline on the upper gulf has been heavy with June Grass. It's been as bad as I have ever seen it and does not appear to be leaving anytime soon. This stuff is thick, slimy, and sticks to things. Just a heads up in you're running along the shallow coast to keep a eye on your motors water intake. I don't know for sure but I would think this stuff could clog a intake. Here's a site that people post updates to on the June Grass.

South Bay strainers work for grass on inboards.

Bruce, this crap even sticks to braid fishing lines. It will clump up in fist size balls and you can even slide it down the line. You have to pull each clump apart. I would not be surprised to see it gum up strainers in a boat stays in it very long.
