Im seeing a lot of marine sites about these new USCG approved K&N spark arrestors. I know people use them on their vehicles for increased air flow but I've always worried in the automotive world about dust and fine particulates still getting through the filter. In the marine world though, you arent driving the boat on a dirt road so it seems like a good idea. I'd like to slap on of these on my 99 Volvo Penta 5.7L carbed engine for increased air flow, horsepower, and maybe even a slight fuel economy increase. Im not expecting miracles out of the thing but I'd definately be interested in letting my engine breathe better!

Has anybody tried or currently using a high performance spark arrestor on their boat or would you recommend it?
