Kellets

This is a new one for me. After 50ish years of anchoring with several types of anchors, all rope, rope and chain, and lastly, all chain, I have never even heard the term kellets, let alone use such a thing.

Now that I'm effectively out of boating, I'm pi$$ed I never even thought of such a thing!

Anyone use something like this? Effective?

Heard of it but never used anything specifically for that purpose always just relied on the scope off the chain.

The one that caught me was a box anchor. I saw one in use on a trawler in a good blow over in the Bahamas. Of course these anchors have their limits.

Always knew of the technique (thank you Chapmans) but I don't believe I ever knew it had a proper name lol.

Never used one… I guess it can help when using line only.

I prefer to over size my anchors …

Oh yeah. I usually put out 8:1 or more. I value my sleep !
