Knocking noise when turned

Hi everyone,

I get a knocking noise when I turn the out drive (right or left). Also get knocking in reverse. When the out drive is straight there's no noise. Otherwise runs great. Help. Volvo DP 280 HP 2005.

Sounds like the u joints are bad. Easy DIY job

Like a bad CV joint in a FWD car? Probably U joints.

While you have it torn apart, check the gimbal bearing as well.
