Kohler 6.5 cz Need some help

*** ok got starter in, engine cranks, does not start, disconnected fuel line at carb, but no gas, put 12v to fuel pump pump is running but no gas is making it up fuel line, once i take off output fuel line (one from pump to carb) fuel pumps right out. could not get the fuel line out to try to clean it, as it is routed through engine. Had to leave boat, will get back to it in a week.

One thing to note was that I did not seem to be getting 12v to pump when cranking
 
You should have three switches on the control panel for the generator. They are typically labelled run, start, and on. Flip run up to energize everything. Flip up and hold the on switch - this bypasses all of the sensors on the engine and sends juice to the fuel pump. Flip up and hold the start switch to engage the starter. Once it starts, release the start switch, then release the on switch after a few seconds.

If you are bypassing the control panel, you could very well not have juice to the fuel pump while cranking.
 
generator fixed!!!
cleaned fuel line, replaced fuel pump, got fuel pumping. Starter was still clicking , checked the fuse, replaced the fuse, and bang generator started right up :)
 
The fact that it would start on starting fluid and then quit was a glaring fuel supply issue.
 
Any chance anyone has a copy of the service manual they could send me? I've been searching for a couple weeks with no luck
 
Can anyone please let me know if you have got the repair manual. I am having similar problems and could use it also.
