Lake Lanier drought pictures

Not by me yet. It's marine max's boat lift and they have generally had their yard shut down for the winter! :)
But, looks like Greg posted the pic October 14, 2008. Assuming that is the day, more or less that they hauled the boat out, lake then was at 1053.52. Today we are at 1056.45. So- imagine that picture but add right at 3 more feet of water to it and that is what it will look like. Also remove all the semi-green foiliage in the pic b/c it's winter now and no leaves on the trees.
 
Yep, That wasmy boat being hauled in mid October ... I believe I was one
of the last oneshauled out, there was only about 2' of water in the
well ... the straps were resting on the bottom!!
 
Well, it's official. Today Lake Lanier reached the same level it was at last year at it's highest point for the entire year...1057.80. That level hasn't been reached on lanier since mid-May of 2008. Lake is still rising as snow, etc. melts off from our weekend storm. Just in time too...it's supposed to be between 72-76 this weekend!! :)
 
Does anyone have any pictures of the water levels in the marinas now. Thanks, and I hope the lake fills up for the boating season. Good luck.
 
How about a pic of the travel hoist well that was such a disaster? Has that recovered?
 
I've got a pic of the travel lift from yesterday when we had a boat being hauled out for survey. But- it's saved on my office computer so you'll have to wait until the a.m. :)

Lake is now a whopping 1.8" higher than the high point last yearbut hopefully spring rains will soon be upon us and we'll come up a good bit more. At least there is enough for a good summer right now.
 
Once all the beer drinkers put their boats in and start peeing in the water, you should be in good shape!

And wow- talk about a tight channel into the travel lift bay! In their dredging last year I guess they tossed the boulders to the edge of the channel into the bay. Big rocks to port and starboard with about a 3' margin of error. I was glad it wasn't windy as I pulled her into the travellift! You can just barely see one of the big rocks below the water in the foreground of the picture below:

Glad to see that you're getting some lake rise Tony. We could be in for a pretty tough summer here. One never knows though. Central Texas is typically dry during the summer, but two of our most recent severe floods have come during the summer. Go figure!

Boat survey? Is the to help sell the boat, or do you have someone interested? Inquiring minds and all that stuff! :-)

I'm doing boat brokerage now in addition to my commercial real estate work (in the words of my wife, I love putting deals together and I am always thinking/talking/looking at boats so I may as well put that to work). Boat in the new travel lift pics is closing next week and looks like (hopefully) another deal in the works!

Starting tommorow, four solid days of rain! Count them, four glorius days of rain. We may get this thing filled up yet!
 
If you are not getting it filled up it is because all of the water is running south. I crossed the Chattahoochee sever times at the end of last week and it is full.

Yes George ... the corps keeps letting water out ... just not quite as fast as last year!!
We may be at 1060' + by next week
