Well, this is really it, however, the weather forecast looks pretty good. Near 70 on Saturday. If they are correct, I'm heading out for a few hours to enjoy the last gasp of the season.

If anyone is out, call me on channel 69.

With a little luck I'll be doing the last cleaning and light wax before the winter. So I too hope for nice weather.

I'll be blackfishing in the LI Sound, looks like a great day for Saturday.

Sounds like I'll have the river to myself for the next few weeks.

Dave, you can measure Bob's draft when he gets hauled on Saturday.

I hear He will be near me. If I get the chance I will.

Guys I am seriously interested in the real draft of your boats.
On another note at least 1 more month for us, I might have found a slip in North Carolina now if I can just talk my wife into it. I'm really tired of the taxes in NJ.

Billy mine is between 52" and 53" measured it several times to be sure. It's even deeper if you include the carpet that was wrapped around my prop. Fortunately I pick it up on my way to be hauled. By the way my GPS only works with the Digital 22 model so yours would not have worked for me. I would love to find a good deal on one over the winter.

What a day to play hooky yesterday. Went up to change the oil in the morning and couldn't bring myself to go to work so I went out for a ride. Beautiful day . . . flat as glass. Great scenery. Coming out of the water Saturday morning. Sorry - you won't see me out there. I look forward to hearing from all of you this off season (can't bring myself to say the 'W' word yet). Good luck everyone.

I'll be up to fuel up and clean up for the winter, hoping to take a "long last run", but we'll see how the weather goes...

I checked mine from the water line, it was 50" or 4' 2". I was with full fuel for several weeks. I guess all the fuel, crap, and boozes on board weighs alot.I would expect that from the documented literature from Carver/Trojan, 48" as the listed draft is with half or less than half fuel, no water and Booze on board.

Bob I had a look at your boat on Saturday and I think you are more like 51" at the base of your water line which would make the only difference in our boats the size of my props. I measure trying to match the tilt of the jack stands to be as accurate as possible which would account for the inch difference. By the way I hit my head on your swim platform I'm not used to one being there. Don't worry I didn't bleed on your boat and I promise not to sue.
So now lets see what Hogan VI is I think they will all be within an inch or so.
OK is it time for a count down clock now?

And you said you would never need geometry or trigonometry.

Just common sense not complex math.

My question is, did you do any damage to my swim platform. I know you have a hard head. Fiberglass can crack..[:-eyebrows]

sorry Wayne beat me to that. I think it was the steel support that I hit, it did hurt but the only damage was to my head. I think it knocked some sense into it. It made stop and wonder what it is about boating that I love so much and how do I justify the expense. Then I came to my senses and remenbered that I promised myself I would never think about that, Life is too short not to enjoy ourselves.
When are they wrapping your boat?

I should have it wrapped by next week. I have to get a couple of things off the boat.
There is no such thing as justification to a boat and it's expense. Just think you could sit at home and drink or sit on the boat and drink. I prefer the latter.

In spite of it being one of the coldest and rainest summers that I can ever remember, we managed to have a pretty good season.

We bought a new boat, and managed to sleep on our boat(s) 72 nights! We only anchored out overnight 4 times - which is a record low - that I hope will never to be seen again.
