We have an 88 3227 Carver with two hard wired CO2 detectors on board. When we place them to the on position, after about 30 seconds they just ring out constant.

We used a portable/battery powered device with no problems.

Is there something I am missing here on these units?

Thanks
Ken

they need to be replaced they only have a life span of 5 to 7 years then then they start to beep. This goes for home CO sensors as well so if you have them at home and they are more then 7 years old replace them. I have replaced about 10 this week alone.

yup replace them and dont spray cleaners or other aerosols on them

Chances are they are old and worn out. Mine are hard wired also. I replaced all three of mine and they will start beeping when the boat batteries get low. One time I left the battery charger off and when the batts got low alarms went off.
