Nice pics everyone! Keep 'em coming. It's starting to feel a little like home now. I must see if I can find a thread on Saturday Morning Pics here, then I'll be at peace.

Coming down off plane in my old Doral 18.5'. Always thought it was a cool pic. My new boat is a Commodore 290! Cheers!!!

Love this new site!

First, this is just a test to see if everything works...

Second, Joe, thanks for posting the Art of Rafting, you saved me a lot of time. In fact, as Rommer (Hello Captain!), suggested, you could post it in the Ask the Captain section.... it is most likely of interest for a lot of people.

Third, I have been working on the sequel (I have 382 pics so far this year) but the sequel is the Art of Rafting with planes, as a friend of mine just bought one... (I will not go up until he has 500 or so hours)

eg:

I have been hiding so to speak in part at a friend's cottage who just built a new 45' dock complete with 30 AMP power and shore water. He doesn't have a pump out station tho....

His cottage is right next to the Big Chute and he even changed his home port to:

And for those who forgot what the Big Chute is, it's the marine railway. We went over following Gary to get some pics in our dinghy (the lock master actually called us on with our dinghy - but I declined - been there, done that but next time....will go under someone's bow just for the experience) and met lot's of nice American's in big trawler's doing the "Big Loop".

And just to complete this test, nothing like a shot of the "twins" ie: Martin's new boat and ours together. He now has a new stainless steel Bruce anchor (not shown) however, my Bruce (working anchor) is in the water on the right with the chain....doing it's job versus tucked under the bow with the Captain dusting and shining the nice stainless steel :)

Nice to be back.

Wow Greg...BEAUTIFUL pictures! It is a goal of mine to make it up the Trent some day. You have sure enticed me further with those pictures. Thanks!

Thanks as well for the raft up procedures.

Here's a picture of my boat...it's not a Regal, but what the heck.

Hi Greg, Rommer, Les,

Any thoughs on how to move the Art of Rafting post to the Ask the Captain section? Or should we just repost a new one there?

Greg, also, just so you know, I used your same photobucket image locations.. so don't take them down or move them.. it'll break the links.

I was happy to be able to salvage the document.. as it is so nicely done - and I've yet to review it in full detail yet myself. I need to print it out and go practice. :)

Joe, since you have already done it once in this form (I don't think I kept a copy), might I suggest that you just copy it (The Art of Rafting) and post it as a new thread in the Captain's section.

I still have them in photobucket so shouldn't be a problem.

I would also suggest you add an opening statement to the effect something like:

" Just thought the members of our new home here on Boatered would be interested in a previous post from the Regal Owner's forum.

With permission from "Canada" the original poster, please enjoy and thanks to Les et al for making a great new forum for us to exchange ideas"

or something like that.

I would not post any of the reply's to the thread and just let it run.

Cucamonga,

Enjoyed the picture of Big Bear. Moved to NC from Upland. Miss your area (but not driving up the mountains).

(Don't tell the Carver group I was looking at Regals!)

Hi Greg,

Okay, will do.. but not tonight.. :)
I think I can open my post, and copy/edit/paste very easily now.

I had to totally rebuild all the photo links the first time around which took a little effort to get right, but probably not as long as it took for your original post.

Hi OldMriner32,

Funny enough IN 1985 I moved from Southeast Virginia about as close to Elizabeth City North Carolina (Hampton Roads/Tidewater)to Rancho Cucamonga (next door to Upland)

We basically did the opposite of each other's move hey? [:-bigeyes]

Here are some pics from this weekend anchored in Hells Gate at Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas.

Trying Photobucket for the first time, so I hope the links work correctly.
