Who's going where and why?
 
Go up the Thames to Mohegan Sun, win a small fortune, fly to Cannes, rent something big with a captain and send us pictures. Or Block Island before the summer rush... Gonna be a decent weekend
 
You will win nothing at MS or FW and Norwich is a dump.

Lock your boat twice, don't bet as the odds are really bad now that attendance is waaaaaay down.
 
Perhaps Newport would be a good call... We were going to go north to Boothbay but seas are supposed to be in the 5 foot range thru the weekend. At least no rain...
 
I'll be starting my weekend in Newport and then moving on to Block Sunday morning to spend the week there. I'll be heading home Sunday 7/5 from Block. The extended forecast is calling for decent weather for most of the trip. ..........................Finally
 
Riverbed; If you go up the Thames, watch for the underwater breakwaters that curve around the outside edges of the channel. STAY IN THE CHANNEL!! Especially from Groton up.

The channel is lined with those breakwaters (underwater). Many a boat has met its maker on those.

They make the breakwater to Nantucket look as if they are 40ft tall!
 
Thanks for the tips Jeff. Making that trip might be just wishful thinking 'cause of the time involved but I really want to cruise your neighborhood - Mystic, Saybrook, etc. If I'm moving right along in good conditions, it takes me 3 hours and change just to get to Boston from here but I love it down there and hit the area a lot by car. Actually, I've got work at Mohegan Sun today and might take a quick side trip down to Mystic if I can get my butt moving before too long. Also half toying with the idea of firing up Riverbed and spending a few minutes on the water. Ocean's a bit lumpy but the river's flat as glass. Work will probably win out tho.
 
Let's hope the weather turns for the better. Leaving on our summer cruise on Friday. Dutch Harbor, Watch Hill, Mystic, Block, Bristol, Home on the 5th. A week of nice weather on the boat s heaven. A week of bad weather is a nightmare.
 
We are headed to Block on Saturday morning for the week. Wife, our newfy, and 4 boys ranging from 12 to 18. We are off of Breezy point at anchor.

God I hope the weather clears up..........
 
Have fun you guys. We're looking for the seas to slide down to under 4 and opting for the Casco Bay islands off Portland.
 
Hopefully the controls issue we have had since the boat was launched will be solved by Friday. If not, we'll be treking over to Mystic for the Wooden Boat Festival

Heading to Quonset on Saturday to watch the air show. I finally alomst have my radar installed. Just some last wiring to do in the cabin.
