I have noticed that a limber hole in one of my encapsulated stringers in the bilge appears to have been drilled after the stringer was glassed into place as I can touch the exposed wood in the upper circumference of the thru-cut. I have inspected the exposed wood and it seems to be fine and in good shape but I am wondering if I should be sealing/coating it to avoid any water damage in the future. If so, any recommendations how I should do this ?
