Little Project

Ok...My "Little Project" isn't quite so little anymore..Pulled the carpet, and found rotten plywood. Pulled the rotten plywood, and found rotten stringers. I think there's enough meat left on the fore to aft ones to sandwich new material in there. It looks like about 3 beam to beam ones have to be replaced. Can I build new beam to beam ones, secure and glass to the lengthwise ones, and glass to the hull? The old ones look pretty useless, and I don't think I could sandwich anything straight in these areas...19 foot cuddy...Suggestions? Thanks! Den

Without pix, there's no way of telling exactly what you're looking at. generally speaking you want stringers and bulkheads to have a wide foot print against the inside of the hull to spread the load. You are trying to prevent a 'hard' spot on the hull. Use epoxy to bond stringers and bulkheads to the hull. Get a 'fiberglass boat repair' book. so you know procedures.
