In Laconner, Wa, I am moored on "H" dock and we have 10 live aboards around us on the same dock.

The Marina is beginning steps to eliminate "all" live aboards and it is causing quite a stirr.

Personally:

I think they are great people and live a lifestyle very different from your typical nine to fiver.

They are the most helpful group of people you could every want. They keep an eye on everyone's boats and gear and are always there to help in any situation.

I am aware of some horror stories and also have heard stories of live aboards not taking care of their boat and things along that line.

My only requirement would be:
A. If your boat meets all the CG requirements, and is running and you keep your dock space clean and clear of debris - your good to go!

Personally I will hate to see them go. Maybe our location here in the NW is the exception but the closeness and friendships they have developed reminds me of when I was a kid and everyone in the neighborhood knew and looked out for each other!
