I know this is NBR, but figured id post it here since its a LICC topic.

Can anyone recommend a body shop that does great work? The one I use now is not good for the job I need done. Looking to get a 63 rolls royce painted. Not looking for the cheapest, just the best bang for the buck.

Thanks

I recently shopped around.....had plans to re-paint my Wrangler to match my motorhome ( Im anal ). I found Express Auto Painting in Lindenhurst....reasonably priced and do decent work....( from what I seen ). I've since decided not to paint the Wrangler......but to go with plan B.

V & J auto body on Wellwood ave in Lindenhurst. Excellent work for reasonable prices and very nice people to work with. www.vjautobody.net is their web site. Tell him Billy K. from his softball team sent you. Let me know if your going and I will call to set it up.

Not a lot of Body Shops want to get involved in doing work on classics. It's a lot easier to hang a nose on a late model Toyota and the owner isn't going to be nearly as particular about the outcome as the guy with the classic.
Some Body Shops that will do it aren't all that good at it. They might do fantastic work on late model stuff, but that is a different animal.
The best bet is to go to a car show or two and ask around. There might even be a club that specializes in your model.
The guy that did my GTO years ago isn't in the business anymore. He was one of the good ones.
I know that some guys in the GTO club have used Danny's Auto Body in Copiague located on Strongs and Akron. He is the president of the Pontiac Club. I don't know him personally and have never used him but a close friend that I go back over 40 years with (I'm an old guy) is the current president of the local GTO club and has used him and was very happy with the work.

Thanks guys for the info.

Its a wedding car that needs to be repainted. So it needs to be flawless. My brides arent paying the kind of money they are for a car that has a lousy paint job..

Don, what is plan B? Leaving it along?

No.......after spending the weekend at the RV show in PA.....I can see an upgrade coming just around the corner.....so rather than repainting to match a coach that I may trade-in....I'm thinking matching vinyl graphics....that can be removed/changed if need be.

Its the same 2 foot-itis as boats................

B/C......if its a wedding car........shouldn't it be BLACK with flowers in the trunk..........oh wait !

V & J auto body on Wellwood ave in Lindenhurst. My car is there now. So far I found them a pleasure to deal with, very competant and professional, especially Marie.
