Looking for Cooper Prowler 12M owners

I have just purchased a 12M Cooper Prowler and the bottom looks like a science experiment with all manner of stuff growing on it (been sitting in a very green marina all summer). I am wondering about speed after the bottom is cleaned and repainted. I know I could just clean it and try it out but I will be pulling it out for the winter in a couple weeks, will clean it then and won't be able to have her back in the water until next April.
I am curious as to what you are experiencing for cruise speed. Right now it takes about 3600 RPM to get on plane and I am getting about 16mph at that RPM. I have the 340HP Mercs
I would appreciate any responses.

The boat was located at Starved Rock Marina (some of the nicest people I have ever met dock there). Relocated Saturday to Michigan City, IN
 
Ahh I'm in new buffalo. I will try to locate some specs for your tomorrow to see what kind of performance you should be getting.
 
The Cooper Yachts Prowler series were well made boat. We see a lot of them up here. I shopped them for a while as well, mostly the 9m and 10m boats. I had only a few complaints about them when looking, 1 some seem to have a slit cut in the stringers where the stringer was glassed to to hull, in the area of the galley (10m has a hatch in the floor), these were not sealed and I have seen rot in some of them. Also, I have found that most if not all are underpowered for planing. 350s sound awful small for a 12 meter aftcabin flybridge boat. For all the Prowlers I see around here, I never see them on plane.

Great boats, but I think you will spend most of your time at hull speed.

Unless I hit the lottery I think you are right. I have to hit 3600 RPM to get on plane then I can back it down to 3450 and stay on plane but just barely. That is the real reason for my question, I was hoping that cleaning the very dirty bottom would reduce this by at least a couple hundred RPM.

As for the stringer rot, I had actually read about that on this forum before purchase so I asked the Surveyor to check that specifically for that problem and, although he missed a lot of little things, the broker told me he spent quite a bit of time on the stringers. According to the survey everything is in good shape.

I may have to come up just to see more Prowlers, this is the only one I have ever seen.

I love New Buffalo and one of the reasons we picked Michigan City is that it is close enough to motor over for lunch. I cannot tell from your post, do you have a Prowler also? Either way, I appreciate you finding specs for me; I have tried but can only find what others selling Prowlers are saying.

I looked at every book I had today and came up empty handed.

I have a 1994 Carver 370 aft cabin. Pretty similar in weight and size with pretty much the same power. I am on plane at about 2600 and cruise 20/21 mph at 3200/3300 rpm.
 
My husband and I purchased a 12m prowler last year and love it! Gas guzzler but what can you do? We are looking for replacement window pulls 1000005372.jpg1000005371.jpg
 
Might want to try the window mfgr. My Cruisers Yacht uses Taylor Made windows - we needed a seal for the bow walk thru - they had it.
