Anyone know of a repair site in the Delta/Bay Area?
 
I'm not familiar with the brand, but:

Svendson's in Alameda used to be (maybe they still are) a warranty repair station for quite a few head systems. I don't know if your brand was one of them or not.

Are they still installed in new boats? If so, maybe check with a new boat dealer that carries them???

Or check with the MFG for a list of authorized dealers.

Depco Pumps in Florida can send you a rebuilt unit and you send the core back to them.

Do an online search for maintenance tips, thy often come up on the Hatteras forum as many still have them. I don't think many builders use them anymore
 
I have called them in the past and described my problem and they felt I needed to replace the stator, which I did. I'm still having problems. What I was hoping for was an expert to help me diagnose the problem so I wouldn't be replacing one part at a time. I've read a number of posts and the system seems to have a love/hate relationship with it's users. I like the concept and don't really want to replace the entire setup with another head but I may lean in that direction if I can't get my problem solved. The boat is an older Tollycraft. It's kind of surprising that a boat built in Washington would use a system built in Florida.
 
Thr MFG couldn't refer you to a local authorized repair facility?

You should call the folks at Svendson's. Even if they don't work on those units, they might know who does.

Your best bet is to have the unit physically checked out by someone that knows the system. You are like a dog chasing its tail w/o having someone that knows about it taking a look at it in order to solve your issue. You can play the guessing game (at you expense) all day long and in the end, still not have it fixed.

As a side note, if it can't be fixed, I would recommend replacing it with a Sealand Vacuflush system, but hey, that is just me. I've had five new boats with that system dating back to 1987 and I never had an issue with any of them.

Why don't you describe you problem here?

We might be able to steer you in the right direction.

I have 2 Galley Maid heads, they are simple units, not many parts to go bad. I did a partial rebuild on one of them myself.
 
There is no water flowing to the head. If I pour water into the bowl and hit the button for the flush cycle, it makes all the right sounds but doesn't drain the bowl.
 
Does that pump supply water to the bowl?

First, check for a clog. Next, you might have to check and make shaft from the pump is turning the rotor. You said you replaced the stator? Did you change to rotor and the seal as well?

The stator/rotor sucks the water from the bowl out. You have to have enough water in the bowl for it to suck out.
 
I have filled the bowl with water and held down the flush button instead of having it do the 10 second cycle and it still does not drain completely nor do you see the water coming back into the bowl. I was sent the kit with the helical looking shaft and gasket as the original repair. For a short time after the replacement I was getting the cycle to work but then it stopped.
