Loss of power with cold diesel

Looks like you found it. I am surprised that you didn't see smoke

I think I said this before, IPS pods exhaust out the back of the pod, there is no visible smoke or smell ever. I do have a blow by hole out the back under the swim platform but have never ever seen any smoke.

So watched turbo psi this weekend. When cold and I went to go on plane, port had 5 psi and starboard 21 psi.
But then port shot up to 21 and boat went right on plane.
So it looks like port motor turbo is hanging, but again its just when cold after that it works fine.

The temp issue is probably unrelated and more around the impellers or grass.
I am going to use overtempmarine.com to flush both motors.
I have hard good things about them.
Yeah, I know easy job but I am going to watch him and maybe next time I will try myself.
He flushes both motors with barnacle buster, genny, AC units and replaces all zincs and impellers.
Will report back results on that.

It will almost always get worse quickly - the turbo is hanging up when idle maybe due to a leak back from the riser and maybe not. Sometimes heavy soot/carbon hangs up the turbine wheel and other times the bearing cage is the issue. In any case the turbo will need a look see very soon with extra attention to the exhaust side.
Good luck hope it is an easy fix.

How many hours and do you run them regularly? Just wondering what the service interval is for the turbos.
