Low hot water pressure....I still don't get it?!?

The hot water on my Chaparral comes out at a trickle. I'vegotplenty of pressure and flow on the cold water side. I've opened the hot water heater pressure valve (to remove a possible air pocket?) and removed the outlet line from the heater. The out flow from the heater seems fine but not under pressure. I'm obviously not a plumber but I'd sure appreciate any help and ideas that anyone may have. Thankyou in advance...
