The weather for this week would have made a crossing difficult. We are at Captiva Island. Delayed a day because we didn't want to cross Lake Okeechobee with 30 kt wind and 40 kt gusts. On Monday it was cold (35 degrees) with 20 kts and 25 kt gusts. Tuesday morning was 26 degrees with heavy frost; did not move until the sun melted the frost off the enclosure.

The next few days are 'spose to get into the upper 70's so it will be worth it.

yeah sometimes things work out. we live on the okeechobee waterway just past the Palm city bridge. blow the horn we you go by.

I've spent a few nights at the Riverwatch Marina (right next to the Palm City Bridge). It's a bit remote but a very nice facility with on cite mechanics and full service. Dock and office staff are very friendly and helpful.

Ooops. I meant the place in Lucaya as well, and thanks for that on Riverwatch! BTW the alternator is back online and a Southern excursion is back in the plan. When, who knows...

I went to Ocean Reef last Memorial weekend. Had a great time. Secure and the dockage was great. A little high on electric, but I hear everyone is. Anyway I am on that e by the bay place and I see a two bedroom two bath time share there. The yearly was only 450.00 a year for a week so I threw a bid at it and got it for 250 dollars. Great deal except I didn't use it this week and now we are headed to Ca. for a few years. who ever said I was smart with money?--- I do own a boat!
