We're the "Batboat" in the upper part of the picture. The picture is from the 2003 (First) Northern Chesapeake Bay Poker Run out of Tome's Landing Marina.
This is almost as cool as making the Robb Report, maybe even better!

Now I need to get the boat up and running again...

And I thought you made the big time when the Bat Boat was featured in that article several years back. BTW, the Bat Boat would be perfectly at home on Still Pond Creek! ;)

Chuck,

You still have the distinction of being the only person to make me question my need for speed. Doubt I will ever make the trip from Havre de Grace to Perry Point so fast in my life... Definately a boat to not forget...

KiDa: I haven't seen an actual issue yet, but I'll keep an eye out for them.

MikeeH: Yes, I'm not sure if Ira Black knew what to make of his test ride. We were headed down the Susquehanna from Port Deposit to Havre de Grace whe he asked me "How fast are we going - 50?" I looked at the speedo - We were doing 78, and still accelerating. I thought about it for a second, and told him we were doing 66..... [:-angel] Actually, having the boat in Robb Report in 1999 was the real "Big Time". [^]
Based on my last attempt to get anywhere near your place, I'll need to switch from a stern drive to a jet. Or a paddle.

tr_guy79: I'd almost forgotten about those "demo rides" on the Flats. That was back in 2003, I think. When the boat reappears, it will have been upgraded from 532 to 625 hp. There will be a "minor personality change" associated with that upgrade....

The Nor'Easter staff was awesome. They printed an 11" x 17" photo of the cover for me at no charge. It also turns out that our other boat is pictured in one of the rotating banners on their web site. When you see a shot of a group of go-fasts idling towards the camera, our 38' Formula (with silver hullsides) is just above the "M" in "Magazine".

You're depressing me Chuck... Has it really been that long??? I have pictures of that raft up somewhere. I will have to see if they are dated. I know Rob still had his Nova. If I find the pictures I will let you know.

What do you expect top end to be with the 625 horse? Still Volvo I/O?

I have some photos, but they're not stored online, so I can't post them.

Yes, still using a Volvo Penta DPX drive. Top speed will be "adequate". Under 100, but not by much... [:-batman]

We'll have to trade rides sometime :-) You can see what 20kts is like in a diesel deadrise.....and I can see the opposite.

I still think that my wife's comment after a ride with C_Spray was the best:
"My hair hurts!"

Congrats Chuck- I picked up the issue today.
I foraged around and found my pictures (yes it was back in '03!).

They don't even notice the ORANGE Bayliner....

I like this transom shot!

And lastly the "Aircraft Carrier", with Shane in his yellow trunks and sunburn

That was a fun day. We should do it again.

I'm not sunburnt. That's a natural glow....

Good times... Good times...

I can't wait to get back on the bay this summer...

Hey, Rob - Thanks for the great pictures. We had a good group that day. Our friends Craig and Nancy were up from the DC area in their Formula 223 (They've been through 2 Cigarettes since then), and I think I see Alex and his Cobalt in addition to "Color Blind". Dianne even got some video of the demo rides we did, but it doesn't look near as fast on the camera as it did onboard...

Man! The water was shallow that day!!
