Well, somebody was going to do it sooner or later.

http://www.astrayacht.com/Astra/en/ct-menu-item-6/ct-menu-item-12/bpa-boat-parking-assistance3.html

"In automatic mode, BPA takes full boat's control to perform enter or exit operations, repeating maneuvers recorded when the user was controlling the boat.
Independently of wind and flow conditions, BPA controls the boat at low speed until the requested operation has been completed, always monitoring presence of emergency situations like fixed or moving obstacles."

Considering how poorly written that web page is I can only imagine what the owner's manual is like! :-)

Maybe they should make an automatic anchoring system that woudl interface the sounder with the windlass control to help all the idiots who can not mutiltply a simple number by 7....

All my boats have been self docking. I have been doing it myself for a long time.

"repeating maneuvers recorded when the user was controlling the boat."

Does that mean now it will just automatically crash identically each time?

Does it curse and scream when the wife drops the line in the water or the deck hand is tying it off to the wrong cleat?
