Manifold installation question

I ordered a set of manifolds and risers for my 5.0l mercruiser. My question is on the installation do the manifold and riser gaskets go in dry or with a thin coat of sealant? I read the mercruiser service bullitin fromn 1999 and it states for them to go in dry, but I remember seeing another service bullitin somewhere where they now say to install loctite around the water passages on the gasket.I printed it out, but cannot find it and thought it was loctite 501 but I am not sure. I have read other posts on here where they used permatex ultra black on the riser gaskets. Is this ok for the manifold gaskets also? my manifolds and risers will be here this week and I want to get them installed, its now boating season down south, time to hit the water.
